Our Story
“When you stay in one of our cabins, you’re not just staying in a space—we hope you feel the heart and soul of the people who made it possible.”
It started as just a dream
The Everly’s story began many years ago when my wife and I started visiting the Red River Gorge and developed a deep appreciation for the land, waters, animals and residents of Eastern Kentucky.
Approaching retirement, we dreamed of creating something truly special of our own in the Gorge—a place where our love for modern design could blend with the beauty of one of the most incredible natural settings in the world. We wanted to create a space where people could retreat and take a break from their busy lives, a place where people could reconnect with what is most important to them, and a place that benefits its local community. It’s been a dream come true for our family, and we’re so excited to share it with you.
From the beginning, we wanted The Everly to be a family endeavor, so our son and daughter joined us on this journey of love. Together, we poured our hearts (and a lot of sweat!) into bringing this vision to life—clearing the land, cutting in roads, and even burying utility lines ourselves.
Many late nights and freezing cold days later, we couldn’t have done it without the help of our amazing neighbors. A huge thank you to Shorty, Hump, Brad, Eddie, Chris, James Ed, Jason from Jackson Electric and especially Jarred, our master of all trades, for turning dreams into reality.
Every detail of The Everly reflects the love, care, and passion we’ve put into building it. When you stay in one of our cabins, you’re not just staying in a space—we hope you feel the heart and soul of the people who made it possible.
Thank you for taking the time to hear our story and for considering The Everly as your next getaway. We can’t wait to welcome you!
